![]() The visuals have a definite movie feel to them. This one is enhanced for the Xbox One X, and though it doesn't mention 4K, it does look very sharp and the cars are gorgeous. It also maintains a Need for Speed standard of being very good looking in its own right. You get three cards to choose from, revealing one will be your modding prize.Īll this is then mixed together with a fairly decent open world map with both on and off-road sections to explore, along with the series' trademark police chases. ![]() Mods aren't just bought, though, in most cases, you're earning them as a reward in a lucky dip style. What you have in Payback is serious car customizations, around from the age-old Underground days, with wild body kits and absurd modifications. It might be better than Fast and Furious, though. ![]() However, it isn't better than GTA V or Forza Horizon 3. If you mixed Fast and Furious with Grand Theft Auto and added a sprinkle of Forza Horizon, you'd arrive about at where Need for Speed: Payback is. So in the end you pay much more in total than you expected. There's nothing really new in Payback, that is to say there's nothing you won't have seen before in a previous Need for Speed title. The EA seeks that its market is no longer that of selling games, but that of micropayments that you must later pay after buying the game. You can not enjoy much because you have to repeat the same thing until you get tired to accumulate points to move forward, even if the developer would have put more different races to compensate, but no, you must pay. All of the user reviews that gave this game 9 and 10 are probably some company that EA hired out of India to give fake positive reviews from some unclean computer farm for a small fee. It's amazing that anyone would give this game above a 3. The handling is good and the graphics are good, but graphics do have some issues sometimes and the draw distance seems to get messed up frequently. I like to grind for some things but this grind is far and beyond unacceptable. Not even if this were a FTP game would it be worth your time by how absolute sh*t the grind is. It's an absolute joke of a game and isn't worth any of your time. I couldn't even see this type of a grind in a FTP game let alone a game you pay $60 for.
